Our Story
For those visiting the first time, the Gaia LIfe Way of Peace project has been formed out of 15 years legitimate charity work, NGO and governance pro-bono support to communities and culture globally. The Bali initiative culminates an intensive personal relationship and involvement with the recovery, poverty alleviation, human rights and wellbeing of the whole of Indonesia during economic collapse, insurgency conflict, terrorism and mass natural disasters that have severely challenged the third world country. In 1992 I commenced a private charitable trust and was not indoctrinated into the plight of this beautiful chain of islands until 1997, when I commenced fair trade activities, poverty alleviation and healing services - based predominantly in the UN designated poorest regions of Sumatra, northern hills and east Bali.
My charity work took me to UK in 2000 and I did not register my Foundation (Buffalo Song) until 2003. With an enormous commitment through business, global culture and world peace sustainable Earth preservation with grass roots applications, I self funded all altruistic endeavours and philanthropy - deciding not to take up fundraising and marketing of my own charity, but concurrently supporting other existing community charities in various countries as I continued my work and used my senior business skills to develop alternate strategy for sustainable business and profit funding. For this reason it is not until recently that I felt in a position and with the time to formalise the charitable trust and establish a physical presence again as an organization entity to promote the features of this project. I will attempt to describe this establishment with communication updates shortly of our work projects.
In the meantime I describe the objects of the charity as registered in charter. The physical components of the charitable activity are beyond the set up of a peace institute - although this is desired to become a light network with global community cultures over the next decade. The philanthropic service offering reflects my own endeavours with Fair Trade, supporting trade and economic recovery with consulting, business and product design mentoring and education programmes. In addition to a business consulting career that backs off private arts, film media, music and transpersonal healing, empowerment and leadership coaching, I have also specialised in two Masters degrees of global governance and international law to gain extensive qualifications in human rights, environment and sustainability advocacy. These qualifications were gained to back my continued advocacy work and support of causes for the protection of children and disadvantaged groups.
This year with establishment of the Gaia Way, I am furthering and enhancing programs through established governance networks and community ventures to address contentious issues particularly for women, children and families impacted by crisis and disabilities. As I continue my PHD pathway thesis I conduct assessment and develop visible frameworks for those impacted and human rights issues encountered.
The Gaia Way is also offering human rights legal advocacy, retreat and transpersonal empowerment strategies for 'peace' harmony to individuals and groups whose human and environmental rights are impacted. I will update you with the programmes, qualified practitioners and charitable partnerships that are engaged to roll out transformation into culture, business and government - including an education sector initiative into schools of Indonesia for peace - social justice and environmental sustainability awareness programmes to youth, sports and recreation and culture groups through the government, Manchu and village community governance. We have a base set up in Ubud Football ground and will offer learning programs through Pondok library next door and into villages as required. We have at least one remote retreat of non disclosed location for issues of refuge and protection.
